experiments
  • 1 - Air needs space (2)

    experiment "Air needs space (2)"

Using a funnel and an Erlenmeyer flask, students can examine the air in the room.

  • 2 - Deep sea diver

    experiment "Deep sea diver"

The students build a deep-sea diver with a tealight shell and a diving figure and can observe the processes.

  • 3 - Carbon dioxide (1)

    experiment "Carbon dioxide (1)"

Students* examine burning tea lights topped with beakers.

  • 4 - Carbon dioxide (2)

    experiment "Carbon dioxide (2)"

Students investigate the behavior of two burning tea lights with two beakers (filled with different air) placed over them.

  • 5 - Iron wool on the balance

experiment "Iron wool on the balance"

The students compare the mass of the iron wool with the mass of the burnt iron wool.

Safety goggles must be worn during this experiment.
The digital balance should be operated at full capacity if possible.
The entire experiment should be carried out quickly and without interruption, as the digital scale switches off automatically if it is not used for a long period of time.

  • 6 - Degree of dispersion and flammability

experiment "Degree of dispersion and flammability"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 7 - Extinguishing fire

    experiment "Extinguishing fire"

In this experiment, the students extinguish a small fire with water and sand.

Safety goggles must be worn during this experiment!

  • 8 - Air needs space (1)

    experiment "Air needs space (1)"

The students explore the air with a plastic tub, water and two glasses.

  • 9 - Our breath

    experiment "Our breath"

The students investigate the difference between exhaled and fresh air.
Safety goggles must be worn during the experiment!

  • 10 - Oxygen as a prerequisite to combustion

experiment "Oxygen as a prerequisite to combustion"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 11 - Chimney effect

    experiment "Chimney effect"

In this experiment, the students observe the chimney effect with the help of a heat sink, half an Esbit tablet and a glass tube.

Safety goggles must be worn during the experiment!
CAUTION: The hot glass tube and the heat sink may only be removed afterwards using the crucible tongs.

  • 12 - What gas is formed? (1)

experiment "What gas is formed? (1)"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 13 - What gas is formed? (2)

experiment "What gas is formed? (2)"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 14 - What gas is left over? (Evidence of nitrogen)

experiment "What gas is left over? (Evidence of nitrogen)"

In three experiments, the students detect nitrogen using iron wool, a burning wooden stick and clear lime water.

Safety goggles must be worn for this experiment!

  • 15 - Combustion products

    experiment "Combustion products"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 16 - Combustion in a closed system

experiment "Combustion in a closed system"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 17 - Same substance – different ignition temperature

experiment "Same substance – different ignition temperature"

The students examine a piece of charcoal and the different ignition temperatures.

Safety goggles must be worn during this experiment.

  • 18 - Fire extinguisher

    experiment "Fire extinguisher"

The students extinguish a burning handkerchief with water and the addition of sodium hydrogen carbonate. The process is observed.

Safety goggles must be worn during this experiment.

  • 19 - Slow oxidation

    experiment "Slow oxidation"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 20 - Reduction of copper(II) oxide

    experiment "Reduction of copper(II) oxide"

We will shortly provide you with a description of the experiment at this point.

  • 21 - Refined copper

    experiment "Refined copper"

The students examine a rubbed-off iron nail in a copper sulfate solution.

Safety goggles must be worn during this experiment!
