Kit ‘Molecules 2’
Building Three-Dimensional Models of Aromatic Structures and Multiple Bonds
Number of working groups: 10
Use: Student activities on building organic compounds and representing multiple bonds, aromatic hydrocarbons and three-dimensional molecular structures
With the Kit ‘Molecules 2’, ten working groups can build molecular structures as three-dimensional models simultaneously. The class set contains ten Kit ‘Molecules 2’ and is particularly suitable as an extension to Kit ‘Molecules 1’. By combining both kits, students can model a wide range of compounds in organic chemistry.
The ball-and-stick models illustrate the positions of atomic nuclei and the bonds between atoms. The atom models are connected using the supplied connectors. Flexible connectors also allow students to represent multiple bonds.
Each molecular model kit contains atom models representing carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and phosphorus, as well as universal components. The different atom types are colour-coded according to international conventions.
Three detachable benzene ring models per kit allow students to build three-dimensional representations of aromatic hydrocarbons.
