Kit ‘Molecules 1’
Building Three-Dimensional Models of Aliphatic Compounds
Number of working groups: 10
Use: Student activities on building aliphatic compounds and representing atoms, chemical bonds and three-dimensional molecular structures
With the Kit ‘Molecules 1’, students can build important aliphatic compounds as three-dimensional models. The class set contains 10 molecular model kits, allowing several groups to work simultaneously in chemistry lessons.
The ball-and-stick models illustrate the positions of atomic nuclei and the bonds between atoms. The individual atom models are easily connected using the supplied connectors. Flexible connectors also allow students to represent multiple bonds.
The different types of atoms are colour-coded according to international conventions. Each molecular model kit contains models representing hydrogen, nitrogen, chlorine, carbon and oxygen, together with the required connectors.
The class set includes ten student guides with examples of compounds as well as a teacher's guide. All materials are clearly organised in a hard plastic storage box with matching foam inserts.
