Box ‘Molecules 2’
Use: Student activities on building chemical compounds, representing multiple bonds and aromatic hydrocarbons, and extending the Box ‘Molecules 1’
With the Box ‘Molecules 2’, students can build a variety of chemical compounds as three-dimensional models. The kit extends Molecules 1 with additional atom models, providing further possibilities for representing compounds in organic chemistry.
The ball-and-stick models illustrate the positions of atomic nuclei and the bonds between atoms. The individual atom models are connected using the supplied connectors. Flexible connectors also allow students to represent multiple bonds.
The box includes models representing carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur and phosphorus, as well as universal components. The different atom types are colour-coded according to international conventions.
Three detachable benzene ring models enable students to represent aromatic hydrocarbons clearly and three-dimensionally. A student guide supports work with the molecular models.
