Students kit Gas generator

Generating and Collecting Gases and Investigating Chemical Reactions

Use: Student experiments on generating and collecting small quantities of common laboratory gases and setting up chemical glassware apparatus

With the Students kit Gas generator, students can independently assemble apparatus for generating small quantities of common laboratory gases. When correctly assembled, the gases produced come into contact only with glass and PTFE. Gas-generating reactions can also be interrupted at any time.

One practical application is the generation and collection of carbon dioxide. Illustrated instructions support students in assembling the apparatus and carrying out the experiment.

The SVS system uses screw connections consisting of a screw cap, silicone seal and PTFE sleeve. This allows the individual glass components to be connected securely and assembled into different experimental setups.

The included support equipment with profile rail, support rods, double clamps, sliding clamps and retaining clips provides a stable experimental setup. A tripod, ceramic wire gauze and spirit burner are included for experiments requiring heating. Rubber tubing allows connection to a cooling water supply.

In addition to gas generation, the components can also be used to assemble a simple steam distillation apparatus and a simple extraction apparatus. This makes the set suitable for teaching several fundamental laboratory techniques in chemistry lessons.
